Since I’m on that never-ending path to self improvement, I follow the musings of a few “enlightened” people. People like Yehuda Berg, Martha Beck, my friend David Goad, and whomever else I find to inspire me toward the calm and peacefulness of knowing, understanding and accepting over controlling (or trying to), judging and hate. Hate, such a powerful word, so easily said in a moment of anger, but I digress.
I like to share the best of these tidbits for one simple reason; I believe if we took the time to share more often, there would be less want in the world because we’d have what we need. Yeah, it’s a bit touchy-feely but it is, as they say, what it is.
So, today when I read my daily inspiration e-mail from Yehuda Berg, I knew immediately I had to share it. Knowing that there are so many people connected to those suffering with an illness, or dealing with a loved one’s passing, or just trying to get through a struggle that they feel they must bear alone, it seems only fitting that I should, as David would say, pay it forward.
Directing Light by Yehuda Berg
When friends are going through real tragedy or hardship our natural inclination is to want to help. But what about those times when it seems there is little we can do for them that will make a difference?
We can feel helpless in these situations but the truth is that there is always something we can do.
Simply be there. Just listen. Keep them in your prayers. Keep them in your mind and your heart as you do acts of kindness or spiritual study.
We can always find small ways to send big Light to people in need.
